Full Description

We pick you up by private vehicle from almost anywhere in Switzerland and drive to Kandersteg. From there, we take a spectacular gondola ride up to Oeschinen.

From the mountain station, a gentle 30-minute walk through alpine meadows and pine forests brings us to the lake. The deep-blue mountain lake is fed by glacier streams from surrounding 3,000-meter peaks and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage region.

Activities at Oeschinensee:

 Scenic hiking trails at different elevations
 Rowing boats on the lake
 Summer toboggan run
 Swimming in summer (water temperatures up to 20°C / 68°F)
 Incredible photography opportunities

Our main hike gradually ascends, offering ever-changing perspectives of the lake, glaciers, and surrounding peaks. After about 45 minutes, we reach the cozy mountain hut Berghaus Unterbärgli — a perfect place to rest and enjoy the view.

If you wish, we can extend the hike further. Alternatively, we return comfortably to the gondola station.

To conclude the day, we visit the enchanting Blausee, known as a place of energy and tranquility. A short 200-meter walk through an unspoiled nature park leads to the famous lake with its crystal-clear water in stunning shades of blue.

Important Information

  • For last-minute bookings (1 day before the tour), we cannot always guarantee a guide who speaks your preferred language. An English-speaking guide is always available.
  • Cable car tickets may sell out if booked late. In this case, we will offer an alternative destination.
  • This tour can also be booked without hiking. Instead of the 30-minute walk, you may take a horse carriage from the gondola station to the lakeshore (ticket not included). We can skip the mountain hut hike and spend more time by the lake or explore another scenic spot in the region.
